The Packers girls finished second place with 77 points, but were far removed from the 26-point, first-place effort by Fargo Davies.

West Fargo boys accumulated 75 points, one point shy of the third-place Eagles and just 12 points off victor Grand Forks Central.

At 4 p.m. Thursday, the Packers will attend the Fargo Shanley Metro Classic at Lindenwood Park. Moorhead, Fargo South, Fargo North and Fargo Davies also will be in attendance.

Boys tennis

After another up-and-down week, the Packers boys tennis team is sitting in the middle of the Eastern Dakota Conference with a 3-2 record (6-5 overall).

They placed sixth at their own invitational on Saturday amid a field of 10 teams. Undefeated Grand Forks Red River took the top spot.

West Fargo had top finishers in all but one of the singles flights, but were hurt when no doubles teams did the same.

Keyan Farahmand, Jordan Degerness and Nick Sikorski all placed third in their respective flights. Brady Ballweber took fifth place in First Flight singles, while Michael Holland was fourth in Sixth Flight.

The Packers were scheduled to take on Fargo Davies (4-2, 5-3) on Tuesday, but results were not in by press time. They host two teams later this week, beginning with Fargo North (5-1, 6-3) at 4 p.m. Thursday, and then Red River (5-0, 5-0) at 3:30 p.m. Friday.
