Dougherty hired as soccer Club's Director of Coaching

Danny Dougherty has been hired as the Director of Coaching for the West Fargo Soccer Club.

Dougherty has been acting as interim Director of Coaching and has coached with the club for the past two years.

Dougherty brings a vast depth of experience and knowledge to the West Fargo Soccer Club. He has coached at the high-school level for 11 years, the club level for 9 years, as an assistant coach at NDSU and is currently an assistant and goalkeeper coach with MSUM.

He has also served three years as President of the North Dakota Youth Soccer Association.

His focus will be to continue working on improving the clubs competitive and recreational programs, create additional development camps and mentor coaches.

In other news, the West Fargo Soccer Club has announced the programs it will be offering to players in the area for the fall season. These programs include:

• A junior high boys program for grades 6-8, consisting of skills training and small-sided games.

• A recreational league for grades 1-5, focusing on developing fundamental soccer skills and foster the love of soccer in our young athletes.

• A competitive league for boys and girls ages U10-U14. In this league, coaches will build on the basics learned in recreational programs to develop individual and team skills.

• A fall academy for girls grades 9-12. This program will consist of skills training to prepare girls for the spring season.

The West Fargo Soccer Club welcomes players from West Fargo, Fargo, Moorhead and surrounding communities.
