One killed in head-on crash in north Fargo

Packers split games

The Packer boys basketball team split their week, falling to the Shanley Deacons 79-53 on Tuesday before beating the Fargo Davies Eagles 69-45 on Friday night.

In Tuesday’s game, the Packers were overwhelmed by Shanley forward A.J. Jacobson, who scored a career-high 44 points.

The Packers were led by senior guard Brady Rotert and senior center Derek Hogenson, who each scored nine points for the Packers.

Friday’s game saw a stronger outing from the Packers. Hogenson scored a game-high 25 points and pulled down 13 rebounds to lead the team.

Senior forward Justin Heisler scored 13 points for the Packers and junior guard Travis Schock had 10 of his own.

The team as a whole grabbed 39 rebounds, 15 more than the Eagles.

The 7-4 Packers are currently ranked third in the Eastern Dakota Conference.

They will take on the Devils Lake Firebirds Saturday afternoon, and the Moorhead Spuds on Tuesday. Both games are at home and start at 7:30 p.m.
