Gender is not an issue for the Fargo Soccer Club’s Sheyenne United girls team.

The girls entered the Jamestown Jimmy Classic Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 16. After arriving and learning all of the girls teams had canceled due to worsening weather conditions, they agreed to play in the boys division.

With wins over boys teams from across the state, the team finished undefeated, winning the championship title over Minot.

Members of that team were Tianna Daniels, Rebecca Olien, Kylee Aberle, Emily Hanson, Vanessa Berg – all from West Fargo – Anna Salmon (Fargo) and Elle Hill (Bismarck).

The team was also in action at the Shattuck St. Mary Express Tournament on Feb. 23. They played in the top-ranked division, facing teams from all over the Midwest.

They finished 4-0-1 through qualifying rounds and finished as finalists, falling 0-1 to second-ranked CC-United.

Members of the team are Tianna Daniels, Rebecca Olien, Rachel Blasczyk, Yasmina Dokara, Kylee Aberle (all of West Fargo) and Alyssa Paper(South Fargo).

The team is coached by Kelvin Daniels.
