Behind four top-10 individual finishes, the third-ranked West Fargo Girls Cross Country team grabbed an impressive win at Saturday's West Fargo Invitational.
Led by a second-place finish from Hope Pringle, who ran a time of 20:13.16, the Packers finished with a score of 36, 10 points ahead of runner-up Grand Forks Central.
It was the second time this season the Packers outraced the Knights, who tied for the best team score at the 2017 state tournament. West Fargo took second with a score of 84 at the season-opening Orriginals race in Jamestown, well ahead of the third-place Knights, who scored 139.
Paige Erbstoesser (4th, 20:26.29), Kaelyn Berg (9th, 21:03.22), and Clare Boldingh (10th, 21:06.86) also had top-10 finishes for West Fargo. Emily Hansen rounded out the scoring with a 14th-place run of 21:39.72.
Onnica Stansbury had a team-best time of 20:32.48 for West Fargo Sheyenne, which finished fifth with 96 points. Stansbury finished in sixth place.
Grand Forks Central's Alexis Roehl took first overall in 19:37.33.
