Football team gets first win over North

After two tough losses to western teams, the Packers picked up their first win of the season in their first conference game, topping the Fargo North Spartans 40-12 on Friday night.

The Packers were trailing 6-0 at the end of the first quarter, but erupted in the second for 27 points, starting with a 10-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Scott Cameron to running back Isaiah Helland-Davis.

Cameron later ran in a touchdown of his own from nine yards out.

Senior receiver Brendan Scott caught oa five-yard touchdown from Cameron to end the first half’s scoring surge. Scott ended the game with 35 rushing yards, 21 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

The Packers have their homecoming game this Friday, hosting the Grand Forks Central Knights at 6 p.m.
