Soccer goes 1-1-1 last week

The West Fargo soccer team had a mixed bag of a week, but the good outweighs the bad.

After losing to Fargo South 1-0 on Tuesday to bring their eight-game winning streak to an end, the Packers bounced back with a 3-1 victory over Grand Forks Central, then fought the top-ranked Fargo Shanley to a 1-1 draw.

With 17 points in the Eastern Dakota Conference, Packers will enter the state tournament on Thursday, Oct. 10, as the East’s No. 2 seed, and will face the West’s No. 3 seed -- likely Bismarck St. Mary -- in the quarterfinals at 3 p.m.
