Packers win five of six

The Packers' strong season has continued over the past week, as they have won five out of six games since Tuesday, May 14.

In Tuesday's doubleheader, the Packers fought the intense wind and powered past the Fargo Davies Eagles 18-9 in the first game, but fell to them 12-9 in the second.

Leading the first game was senior outfielder Kory Wolden, who had four runs batted in in the victory.

The team then hosted the Fargo Shanley Deacons for a Thursday night doubleheader and swept them with scores of 5-2 in the first game and 7-3 in the second.

Senior shortstop Ben Huber led the team in the first game, hitting 2-4 with two RBIs.

In the second game, both junior second baseman Noah Paper and senior outfielder Matt Barclay had two RBIs.

On Saturday, senior pitcher Camran Bonnema struck out 12 batters in the first game against the Wahpeton Huskies, picking up a 1-0 victory. Pitcher Noah Paper earned a 2-1 win in the second game of the doubleheader and final of the regular season.

Barclay went 3-3 with an RBI in the first game on Saturday.

The 17-3 Packers will take on the Fargo South Bruins in the first round of the EDC tournament at Bennett Elementary School tomorrow night at 7 p.m.
