The fall sports season for the Packers has officially come to an end over the weekend, as the volleyball team finished the North Dakota State Volleyball Tournament in fourth place. The tournament began for the Packers on Thursday against the Jamestown Blue Jays, who they beat in three games (25-21, 25-19, 25-22). In Thursday's game, the Packers were led by Amanda Levin, who had 15 kills, and Christina Bruenjes, who had 12.
Last year, the West Fargo Packers wrestling team finished 21-0 and won the North Dakota State Championship.

The Packers swim team wrapped up their 2012 season over the weekend on a positive note, as they took first in two events and fourth overall in the North Dakota State Meet. The highlight of the event for the Packers 200 freestyle relay team - consisting of Brianna Faul, Julissa Johnson, Danica Dutt and Hallie Peterson - taking first place with a time of 1:39.9. "They were just awesome," head coach Marsha Dahl said. "They set a new team record, and were just shy of the state record." Dutt also took first place - for the second time - in the 100 butterfly with a time of 57.09.
The West Fargo High School Varsity cheer team took first place at the UCA Regional tournament on Saturday, Nov. 3, in Minnetonka, Minn. Their first-place victory earned them a bid to the National High School Cheerleading Championship (NHSCC) in Florida this February in Florida. "We knew that stakes were high and that it was our only chance to get to nationals," coach Jenni Stewart said. "They just stepped up and really pulled it together in the end.
The Packers wrestling season does not begin until the end of the month, but the team has already earned a promising achievement, as they have been ranked 50th in the nation, according to InterMat Wrestling's "Fab 50" rankings. The reigning state champions finished the 2011-2012 season with a record of 21-0 and had three individual state champions, all of whom are returning for this season. The Packers' cross-country season has come to an end, and the team had two runners earn North Dakota All-State honors at the October 27 meet in Dickinson: senior Nathan Aswege and eighth-grader Jen Dufner. In his last high school cross-country meet, Aswege led the Packers' boys team with a time of 16:45.08, finishing 15th out of 157 runners. "Nathan was determined to run his best race at state as a senior," head coach Joe Bailey said. "He went out strong and had a great finish.
The West Fargo High School Theatre will begin its season with the Midwest regional premiere of "Marathon '33" on Friday. They are just the second group in the nation to perform this show. "Marathon '33" depicts a four-month dance marathon in 1933. Dance marathons were a wildly popular fad during the Great Depression. "They really were precursors to reality TV," director Adam Pankow.
The Packers' football season came to an end on Friday, as they lost 22-8 to the defending state champion Bismarck Demons in the State semifinals. "We played extremely well," head coach Jay Gibson said. "We were moving the ball, but we just couldn't finish."
