It may be a couple of years out but West Fargo City Commissioners made the decision Monday night that if they move forward to complete a realignment plan for Eighth Street West and County Road 19 it would be a separate one from the State Department of Transportation project and totally funded by the city with the type of realignment plan yet to be determined.
Don't mess with the West Fargo Sheyenne Diversion or any other vehicle prohibited traffic area for that matter. An over zealous Fargo man found that out the hard way last week after being charged for a "mudding" incident that involving driving on West Fargo's flood protection works. He will be making his first appearance in court today (Wednesday), and as a result may be held liable for damages caused by his vehicle.

That's the path promoters of the highly successful West Fargo Cruise Night are continuing to follow as they rev up for their fourth annual season kick-off event tomorrow evening (Thursday, June 20), from 5 to 9 p.m. Hundreds of classic automobiles are expected to line Sheyenne Street from Main to Seventh Avenue with a motorcycle coral also featured on Third Avenue between Payroll Express and the Silver Dollar Bar from Sheyenne Street to the alley.
What a difference a day makes in the mosquito fight. Since Monday the mosquito count in area traps has risen from five to around 30 causing Cass County Vector Control officials to schedule ground spraying in both West Fargo and Fargo (weather permitting) tonight (Wednesday, June 12) starting at 8:30 p.m. In the interview conducted Monday right, it was indicated that because of the consistently low counts, that timing for spraying this week was perhaps a little too premature. After several years of not feeling the need for such a union, the city of West Fargo is finally joining forces with the Fargo Moorhead Convention and Visitors' Bureau. According to the terms of the agreement approved unanimously by West Fargo City Commissioners Monday night, effective Sept. 1 all taxes collected through the West Fargo's Visitor Promotion fund will be going directly to the Fargo Moorhead Convention and Visitors Bureau for the purpose of promoting tourism and related activities in the community.

The West Fargo Fire Department is marking a first hosting the 129th annual North Dakota Firefighter's Association Convention this weekend at various locations around the community. Fire Chief Roy Schatschneider said over 300 firefighters from across the state are expected to attend, providing the perfect opportunity for networking and gathering information on the latest technology from some of the 15 fire equipment vendors that will be showing their products or services throughout the three-day event that will run tomorrow June 6 through Saturday, June 8.
The rain has now fallen and stopped and it has been great to see everybody out and about landscaping their yards, getting everything into summer shape. Professional street sweepers have been making their contracted rounds and will be wrapping up citywide cleanup in that regard, cleaning the lingering dirt and debris off all the community's roadway. Public works personnel have also had their people out mowing and trimming public boulevards and other areas.
