Doosan Infracore Construction Equipment (DICE), a global alliance that includes Bobcat compact equipment, and Doosan heavy and portable power equipment brands, has awarded $1,000 scholarships to 20 children of full-time DICE employees in North America. The scholarships go to students who currently attend or plan to attend a two- or four-year college, university or technical school. Bobcat Company started the scholarship program (now administrated by DICE) more than 30 years ago, and more than 500 scholarships have been awarded since the program’s inception.
Mariah Huck has joined the staff at Simply Relax Therapeutic Massage, 715 13th Ave. E., Suite 101, West Fargo, as a massage therapist. Huck was born and raised in Williston, N.D., and graduated with honors from Williston State College in 2011 with a degree in massage therapy. She started her business, Body Restoration, in 2012 in Williston, and is excited for the change of relocating to Fargo. Huck’s professional and personal goals have always been to have a career to make others feel better. In this way, massage has been the perfect fit.
The West Fargo Fire Department has received a $15,723 grant from Monsanto Fund, a private foundation and the philanthropic arm of Monsanto Company, to fund wireless communications/school, which is designed to educate firefighters as well as provide up-to-date communications. “The West Fargo Fire Department is pleased to team up with the Monsanto Fund to address the needs of our community,” said Fire Chief Roy Schatschneider.
The West Fargo All Star Dance Team has been selected to perform at the pre-game and halftime show at the Outback Bowl in Tampa, Fla., on New Year's Day. A fundraiser is scheduled for Thursday at Cherry Berry Yogurt Bar, located at 1100 19th Ave. North in Fargo. Cherry Berry will donate a portion of its sales to help with the fundraising efforts for the trip. A second fundraiser will be held on Monday, Sept. 9, at Pizza Ranch, 4480 23rd Ave. South in Fargo. Pizza Ranch will donate a portion of its sales from dine-in, delivery and carry-out sales.
Charles Conlon Cheney, "Charlie," was born to John and Katie Cheney of Scottsdale, Ariz., on June 24, 2013, weighing in at 7 pounds and measuring 20 ½ inches long. Charlie joins two sisters, Lily and Meara. Grandparents are Chuck and Margaret Cheney, and LeRoy and Mary Kay Hagen, all of West Fargo. His great-grandmother is Audrey Cheney, East Grand Forks, Minn.
