The West Fargo Three Rivers Garden Club will meet Wednesday, Sept. 18, instead of their regular Thursday meeting night, Sept. 19, so residents can take in the Cruise Night celebration Thursday evening, signaling the beginning of West Fest. The garden club will hear a presentation on "Plant Auction and Preserving the Garden" by Julie Garden-Robinson at 7 p.m. at the West Fargo Public Works Building, 810 12th Ave. NW. Anyone with an interest in gardening is encouraged to attend and bring a guest.
Robert E. Rosenvold and David L. Wanner, an attorneys with the Ohnstad Twichell Law Firm in West Fargo, were recently selected by their peers for inclusion in the 2014 edition of The Best Lawyers in America, Rosenvold in the practice of Trusts and Estates and Wanner the practice of Real Estate Law and Trust and Estates.
The Whole Life Challenge begins Saturday, Sept. 7 at Healing Touch Chiropractic. This eight week challenge will include daily points awarded in areas of nutrition, exercise, mobilization (stretching), supplementation and lifestyle. Those attendintg will have the support of the Healing Touch Chiropractic community through online forums and facebook/htchiro along with recipes, tips and occasional prize challenges.
Consumers have a chance before the leaves fall to view a showcase of 43 new homes by 25 Home Builders Association of Fargo Moorhead members. The Fall Parade of Homes will run two weekends, Sept.7 and 8 and Sept. 14 and from noon to 5 p.m. each day. Admission is free. Entries in the Parade include a wide range of prices in developments in Fargo,Mapleton and West Fargo. Homes are built with pride by HBA of F-M Builder members, each with his or her own distinct style. Bright yellow and blue directional signs and pennants will mark homes participating in the Parade.
Jonathan Hay, West Fargo, earned a bachelor of applied health degree as a summer graduate at the University of Minnesota Crookston which enrolls approximately 1,800 full-time students and is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The U of M Crookston is a four-year baccalaureate degree granting institution, dedicated to learning, discovery and engagement in northwest Minnesota.
Andrew and Krystal Sheldon, Mapleton, are the parents of a daughter, Eloise Renee, born Aug. 25, 2013 at 2:52 a.m. at Essentia Health, Fargo. Eloise joins a sister and brother, Abbigail and Isaac. Grandparents are Craig Schwartz, Fargo, and Karen Schwartz, Felton, Minn., and Steve and Kim Sheldon, Frazee, Minn. Great-grandparents are Eugeen and Maureen Rexine, Mesa, Ariz. and Janel and Wendell Johnson, Fargo.
The West Fargo High School Post Prom and Post Grad Committee is looking for parent volunteers. The committee is responsible for planning the Post Prom and Post Grad events in the spring that provide a safe and fun environment for the students.
Two West Fargo High School graduates of the class of 2012 -- Nathan Mugavero and Travis Bruse -- have each been awarded $700 Service Scholarships from the West Fargo Lions Club. The awards are in keeping with the motto of Lionism, which is "We Serve.." They nd were presented to the pair based on their demonstrated commitments of service in their community, school, and family, as well as to themselves. Mugavero is attending NDSCS at Wahpeton and Bruce is enrolled at NDSU, Fargo.
