FARGO — Hornbacher's and Cash Wise stores in the Fargo-Moorhead area that normally operate on a 24-hour schedule are closing at night to allow for cleaning and restocking of shelves.
Stores will now operate 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. to allow the grocery stores to take added measures to protect customers from the spread of the coronavirus, Hornbacher's president Matt Leiseth said Monday, March 16.
The move comes as other retailers and grocers eliminate 24-hour schedules to cope with challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Walmart announced Saturday night that its 24/7 stores would stay open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Leiseth said customers who are vulnerable to infection who want to shop in-store should do so right after stores open, as that's when they will be cleanest.
