Featuring 16 tap beers, Pub West ‘just a good neighborhood bar’

Television sets surround the interior of Pub West, a 4,400-square-foot sports bar and grill located at 3140 Bluestem Drive in West Fargo.

The new business, which opened in December, is due west of Scheels Arena, across Veterans Boulevard, in Boulevard Square.

“We’re just a good neighborhood bar,” said Larry Hauger, manager.

Pub West offers a full-service bar with 16 beers on tap and eight craft beers.

The menu offers six sandwiches, eight different hand-pattied burgers, a couple of wraps, 19 appetizers including fresh-cut fries and chips, soup, and five types of lavosh.

Menu items are available from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Hauger said.

There are 26 high-definition television sets. “So we should be able to get pretty much any sporting event that you want,” Hauger said.

The pub also offers blackjack and pull tabs through West Fargo Hockey Association, along with pool and dart boards. “We’ve got a big patio coming soon outside the building,” he said.

Pub West has indoor seating for 218 patrons and employs about 27 full- and part-time employees.

Hauger once worked as a manager and bartender at the former Grainery restaurant, which was located in West Acres.

Wendt started in the food service business in high school at Bierstube Steakhouse in Red Wing, Minn.

He recently worked locally at Scratch Sandwich and Deli Co. in Fargo and Altony’s in Moorhead.

Pub West is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to midnight, Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. and Sunday from noon to midnight.

Hauger said the business will remain open every day until 2 a.m. “if there are people here.”
