The Blarney Stone Irish Pub plans to pave a second parking lot near its building that has been gravel.

The West Fargo City Commission granted a The Blarney Stone a conditional use permit at its Monday meeting, which will allow work to get started right away.

"However, [the owners] anticipate it likely won't happen until spring 2016," Senior Planner Tim Solberg said Monday.

Visitors to the West Fargo pub have been using the gravel lot on the south side of the business as overflow parking since The Blarney Stone opened in May 2014.

"I think what they are finding is a lot of people come on their own instead of carpooling," Solberg said. "There's really no overflow, you can't park on the street."

Solberg said Blarney Stone owners plan to pave out the lot past where the gravel is now, which will allow for more parking spaces.
