Power of 100 is a group of women who nominate and select three charities at random, quarterly. Power of 100 stands for the $100 check contribution from individuals or teams and multiplied by the number of members. Power of 100 has 168 giving units and 231 members, and has raised $51,980 since it started in October 2015, leader Christy Dauer said in a release.

The group chose Project Ignite Light as a recipient because it is an organization that strives to give child victims a piece of security with Bags of Hope. The bags are filled with needed items that can range from daily use to something as simple as a flashlight.

Power of 100 is looking for new members or teams of members to contribute a $100 donation. Check out the group on Facebook - Power of 100 Red River Valley orpowerof100rrv.com.
