FARGO-Warner Investment Corporation, parent company of locally owned and operated Warner and Company Insurance, has announced that President and CEO Brian Hayer has purchased all shares of the company and assumed sole ownership effective May 14.
Hayer is the fourth president in the company's 107-year history, having served as president, CEO and part owner of the company since 2007.
"For three generations, our family business has been dedicated to providing local service to clients and giving back directly to our community through financial contributions, volunteerism and expertise," Hayer said, adding he is excited to carry on the tradition started by R.D. Warner in 1911 and continued by his own father, Harry Hayer.
Founded in 1911, Warner and Company Insurance is one of the longest-running independently owned and operated full-service insurance agencies in the region. The company expanded over the years to include Thompson-Schaefer Insurance in Grand Forks and Kramer Agency in Bismarck; as well as Schiller Insurance in Detroit Lakes, Minn.
The company employs a total of about 50 staff members and specializes in providing business, personal and life/health insurance for individuals and groups throughout the region.
One project Hayer will oversee as sole owner is a planned $2 million renovation to the company's long-time Fargo location at 318 Broadway, next to the Fargo Theatre.
The four-floor, 24,000-square-foot space, currently occupied only by Warner and Company Insurance, will be remodeled to add spaces for tenants on the basement, and first and second floors.
Warner and Company will relocate its offices to the third floor and planned four-season rooftop area, which will serve as a unique break room and corporate entertainment space for Warner and Company's employees.
Warner and Company has been based in downtown Fargo since its inception in 1911 and has been in its current location since 1961.
