North Dakota's first Nothing Bundt Cakes franchise is expected to open here this spring at 816 24th Ave. E., just south of Costco and west of McDonald's.
Nothing Bundt Cakes offers 8- and 10-inch Bundt cakes, tiered Bundt cakes, miniature "Bundtlets" and bite-sized "Bundtinis." Flavors include chocolate chip, classic vanilla, red velvet, white chocolate raspberry, confetti, carrot, lemon, marble and pecan praline, according to the company's website.
The store is owned by Rinda Norberg and Jenna Polich, who are both in training right now in Dallas.
Norberg first tried Nothing Bundt Cakes a few years ago while visiting her sister in Houston.
"She said, 'You have to have this.' I did, and I was hooked," Norberg said.
She inquired about opening a franchise for the metro area, but Nothing Bundt Cakes was not yet ready to expand to North Dakota. She continued to email the company every few months, and her persistence finally paid off.
Nothing Bundt Cakes has 280 locations across the U.S. North Dakota will be the 38th state to get a Nothing Bundt Cake location. Norberg said she hopes to be open by late April or early May.
