Jordahl Custom Homes opened the doors at its new location Monday, March 4.

The state-of-the-art design center at 2832 Sheyenne St. will allow clients to browse a wider selection of options for new construction and remodeling, company President Rob Jordahl said in a news release.

"Technology and personal touch are what this new location is about," Jordahl said. "We want our client's homebuilding and design experience to be exciting and stress-free. Our design center will offer a first-class home buying experience with superior design service and the best-of-the-best design features all in one place."

Jordahl's new headquarters includes kitchen and bathroom vignettes to showcase the latest countertops, flooring, appliances and light fixtures. There will also be a "Tech Wall" for the latest in-home automation. Buyers can choose smart thermostats, smartphone-controlled music and lighting, and security systems.

"We are extremely excited about all the additions, especially the Smart Kitchen," Director of Design Katie Kern said. "It will have all the smart home features that buyers can try out. They will experience the newest technology including: video door bells, automated window shades, controllable heating, cooling and lighting, and much more."

Hours for the new location will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, or by appointment.

The firm moved its operations from 4802 Amber Valley Parkway S. in Fargo.

Jordahl earlier this year told The Forum that the 20,000 square feet of space in the former Carpet Tile & Stone building will be welcome after years of tight quarters.

"We ran out of space in our current location years ago," Jordahl said in January. "We've pretty much been stifled in this building for a while."

Jordahl Custom Homes has been in business for about 20 years.

Despite the challenge of another summer of road widening on Sheyenne, Jordahl said the company will be well-served by the new location due to robust construction in that part of the Fargo-Moorhead metro area.
