The Arthur W. Jones VFW Post and Auxiliary reported 18,397 volunteer hours and donated $173,719 for the first six months of 2019.
The reporting is for volunteering in community activities, school and youth activities, and members helping anyone in the community. The organization’s hours and money donated to the VA Hospital are separately reported.
Prior to the North Dakota State University Bison football game on Saturday, Nov. 9, Post and Auxiliary members were invited to make the flag presentation.
The presentation included 31 volunteers holding the 20 by 50 foot American flag during the National Anthem. It is one of many patriotic programs the VFW Post members do during the year.
Post Commander Craig Johnson and Auxiliary Bonnie Kupperion said it is important to promote patriotism and support our youth and local programs in the community. The true character of our Post and Auxiliary members are measured by the communities and the people who work to improve them.
