Chick-fil-A gives inside peek at new Fargo restaurant

FARGO — Steve and Kami Pederson have dined at Chick-fil-A restaurants while traveling, but on Friday, Jan. 12, the Pedersons and their young daughter, Evelyn, enjoyed a Chick-fil-A lunch in Fargo.

The occasion: The restaurant held a training session for new employees, utilizing invited guests as willing training aids.

"The customer service at the ones I've been at before has been just amazing, and I'm looking forward to that here," Steve Pederson said, adding: "I think we'll definitely be back."

Kimberly Flamm, the franchise owner of the Fargo Chick-fil-A, said Friday's event served as a soft opening and there will be additional training involving the public before the restaurant officially opens on Thursday, Jan. 18.

New Chick-fil-A employees training on Friday included Mario Williams, a recent Concordia College graduate who is originally from San Diego, Calif. Williams, who offered smiles along with the free food he was serving, said he was excited about his job and the restaurant's upcoming launch.

The business is located at 4100 13th Ave. S., near the West Acres mall in a spot that was once home to a TGI Fridays that closed in 2015 and was torn down this past August.

Before being named a franchise owner, Flamm worked for the chain's corporate office as an interim manager, leading restaurants around the country.

Her career with Chick-fil-A began in Indiana when she was a teen and she was awarded a Chick-fil-A Leadership Scholarship while a student at Crossroads Bible College.

Flamm said when the restaurant opens for business on Thursday, the public will find hospitable team members eager to serve them.

"You're going to find it's pretty much just a big party," she said. "It will feel like you are going to grandma's house for a delicious meal."
