MVP Pizza planned for former north Fargo Happy Joe's site

FARGO - It looks like a former northside pizza shop will once again be putting out cheesy, doughy goodness.

Permits taken out with the city indicate that an MVP Pizza store is being planned for the former Happy Joe's Pizza & Ice Cream Parlor at 3132 Broadway N.

A dumpster is parked outside and demolition appears to be underway to the interior of the building. A permit on file indicates that carpet and counters will be removed, with other minor miscellaneous work, but the structure itself won't be demolished.

The pizza restaurant is listed as being owned by Josdak, Inc., an entity incorporated in 2018, according to the North Dakota Secretary of State's office.

Brian Meckler of DMM Investments owns the property, and he said he is leasing it to the owners of Josdak, who have declined, for now, to step forward publicly.

Happy Joe's owner Mike Post closed the north side restaurant in spring 2017. At the time, he said it was due to difficulties finding enough workers to staff the business. The restaurant had been open for 37 years.
