WEST FARGO — The West Fargo Public Library will close early at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, for staff training to prepare for new library management software.

The West Fargo Public Library and other libraries in the Online Dakota Information Network are moving to a new software and public access catalog, set to go live Wednesday, Dec. 11.

As part of this transition, item check-in, renewals, hold requests, the Cash Wise book vending machine and library card sign-up will not be available Dec. 5-10. Patrons will have read-only access to their online library accounts during this time.

The library won't be able to accept inter-library loan requests from Nov. 15 to Dec. 31. Patrons can still check out items owned by the West Fargo Public Library during this time.

The software transition will allow for new features for patrons, including automatic renewals on certain materials, and the ability to receive notices and receipts via text, as well as put holds on items from other libraries.
