The West Fargo Area Community Program (WFACP), in coordination with Valley Senior Services, has changed the location for weekly meals for those 60 and older.
The new location is at Lutheran Church of the Cross, 1402 16 St. East, West Fargo.
Meals are served at 11:45 a.m., Mondays through Fridays.
A donation of $4 is recommended but noone is denied a meal.
It is also recommended that you sign up for a meal the day ahead by calling 701-356-2047. This helps the cooks prepare an appropriate amount of food for those attending.
WFACP has been active since 2010. It is an organization for seniors. Besides meals, activities are provided such as bingo, Mexican Train (dominoes game), whist, pinochle, trips to local restaurants for ice cream treats or to tour facilities such as homeless shelters or fire department, and speakers.
Blood pressures are taken monthly.
Annually, WFACP sponsors Seniors 60+ Extravaganza, a half day free conference at the local Double Tree Hotel. The about 175 seniors attended the 2019 Extravaganza. Speakers present on senior issues in addition to many booths to learn more about senior needs, safety and health. There is no charge for the conference and a lunch and beverages are provided.
