Presentation: “The History of Florence Klingensmith” by Mark Peihl: 7 p.m. Monday. Mark Peihl, Archivist for the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County, will give a presentation on Florence Klingensmith, a Clay County woman who found success and fame during a time when pilots were superstars and women were discriminated against in ways hard to imagine. Offered as part of this year's One Book, One Community celebration. Free. No registration is required. Space limited to 30 participants.

Red River Radio Amateurs-General License Class (Eight sessions): 7 p.m. Wednesday. Red River Radio Amateurs (RRRA) is a nonprofit ARRL affiliated Amateur Radio club serving Fargo, Moorhead, and the surrounding area. Periodically, members of the RRRA offer a series of weekly classes in preparation for FCC Amateur Radio license tests. There is no charge for instruction; however, a textbook is required (about $30).

Upcoming Events

Fall STEM Night: 6:30 p.m., Oct. 24. Kids can learn all about different areas of STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) and participate in fun fall experiments and activities. Program is free and open to kids in grades K-5.

One Book, One Community Author Presentation: Keith O’Brien at the Fargo Air Museum: 7 p.m., Oct. 28. Keith O’Brien, author of “Fly Girls: How Five Daring Women Defied All Odds and Made Aviation History”, will give a free presentation and book signing. All ages are invited. Books will be available for purchase.

Performance: Peter Fletcher, Classical Guitarist at Sheyenne High School Theater: 7 p.m., Oct. 29 at West Fargo Sheyenne High School Theater. West Fargo Public Library is teaming up with local high school teacher and guitar aficionado Mark Berntson and his students to host a free concert by musician Peter Fletcher. Mr. Fletcher is an American classical guitarist who offers an audience-friendly, solo recital including repertoire that runs the gamut from the Baroque Period through the 20th Century.
