An up-and-down weekend produced a 2-2 finish for the West Fargo Legion Baseball team at the Fargo-Moorhead Invitational.

After a narrow 5-4 loss to Post 15 East in the opener, the Patriots combined for 21 runs and 19 hits in a pair of wins over Upper Manitoba and Superior.

Dustin Mertz had two hits and two RBIs, while Alex Urlaub and Ryan Reynolds scored twice in an 8-0 win over Upper Manitoba. The offense was plenty for Anthony Villanueva, who scattered four hits and had four strikeouts in five shutout innings.

Post 308 jumped out to an early lead thanks to a seven-run second inning en route to a 13-8 win over Superior the next day.

Brayden Jacobson had three RBIs, with Lance Oster and Brennan Haman driving in two. Five Patriot players had two hits.

Things didn't end well, though. Tied 1-1 going into the fifth inning, Coon Rapids scored 11 times over its final three at-bats to top West Fargo 12-3 Saturday night.

Post 308 was 13-8 entering a Tuesday doubleheader at Watertown.
