Epic Companies embraced West Fargo's "city on the grow" slogan with its groundbreaking of the Lights at Sheyenne 32 development on Wednesday, Sept. 25.
Even though the project at the intersection of Sheyenne Street and 32nd Avenue South is well underway, the groundbreaking was to celebrate its progress as well as its anchor tenants, like Bell Bank and Bar Down.
The Lights will have West Fargo's first parking garage, an entertainment stage, ice skating, shopping, dining and living spread across four mixed-use buildings.
Epic Companies sees the plaza as an extension of the growth seen in downtown West Fargo.
"Having the Lights plaza, which is going to be able to host more people, have more people, (it) just adds to that," said McKenzy Olson, a spokesperson for Epic Companies. It's not just a West Fargo base. We're hoping it's going to be a statewide destination type location."
The first building is slated to be completed in January of next year, and the first concert is scheduled for June.
