West Fargo Education Foundation will induct honorees into its Hall of Fame at an event from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, at DoubleTree by Hilton, 825 E. Beaton Drive.
Hall of Fame inductees include:
Judge Steven E. McCullough, outstanding alumni: McCullough, who graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude from Minnesota State University Moorhead and attended University of North Dakota School of Law, where he received numerous awards. He was elected a district judge for the East Central Judicial District of North Dakota in 2004. He is past president of the Cass County Bar Association and past member of the Board of Governors of the State Bar Association of North Dakota. McCullough has served on a number of boards and served on the North Dakota Supreme Court Task Force on Abused and Neglected Children, among other groups.
West Fargo Packer Backers, outstanding in community: The Packer Backers use membership fees, sponsor signage and advertisements from area businesses, an annual golf tournament, fundraising events donations and more to raise money for student activities, equipment and groups. Over the past 45 years, the Packer Backers have given over $1 million.
1998 Girls Basketball Team, outstanding team: The team finished the season with a 23-2 record, winning both the Eastern Dakota Conference and State Class "A" championship titles. Two players were named to the All-EDC Team and three players were named to the All-State Team.
1998 Boys Football Team, outstanding team: The team finished the EDC season 8-0 with an overall 12-0 record. They won both the EDC Championship Title and the State Class "AAA" Championship Title. Seven players were named to the All-EDC Team, four players received Honorable Mention All-EDC Team, four players named to the 1st Team All-State and two players named to the 2nd Team All-State.
