Ashley Smalley, an art teacher at Liberty Middle School, has been awarded a $955 professional development grant by the North Dakota Council on the Arts.
The NDCA’s professional development grant program is designed to benefit artists by providing financial assistance for informational and educational opportunities relating to the arts and arts development. Organizations are also eligible to receive grants to defer the costs of staff training, consultant work, and the hiring of directors.
The grant will allow Smalley and her colleague, Sarah Dotzenrod, to attend the National Art Education Association Conference in Minneapolis, Minn. The conference offers over 1,000 participatory workshops, panels, exhibits, tours and keynote addresses by world-acclaimed educators, artists, and researchers, and on-going opportunities to connect with colleagues from all over the world.
This project is supported in part by a grant from the North Dakota Council on the Arts, which receives funding from the state legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.
