Special events

Man Toys on Display: through March 31. The library’s current display is from local resident Neil Wenberg’s collectible war toys. Wenberg is loaning many of his 1930s and 1940s Manoil, Barclay and Built-Rite items for the public to view. Having been manufactured during the Depression and World War II when there was a shortage of money and metal, they are made of cardboard and hollow lead slush.

Lego Mania: 2 p.m. Monday. School is out for the day, so head to the library for Lego Mania. The library has a big supply of Legos and other games for a fun afternoon open to all ages.

Craft Supply Recycling: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday. To celebrate National Craft Month, West Fargo Public Library and the Knitty Giddy group are hosting the second annual craft supply recycling each Tuesday evening in March. In April, all supplies will be donated to local activity centers.

Regular events

Simply Stories: 10:15 a.m. Tuesday. This session is geared for lap babies and preschoolers and is just stories – no crafts. For stories and simple make-and-take crafts, visit the library at 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Registration is not required.

Storytime with a Craft – It’s Spring!: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Story times are geared for preschool through first-grade age children and their caretakers. Day cares are welcome, but for groups larger than five, call ahead to (701) 433-5460. Registration is not required.

Twisted Stitchers: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Join this fun group for an evening of knitting or crochet. Come with your own supplies. It’s not for beginners, but tips will be given to knitters and crocheters needing help. No preregistration required.

Upcoming events

Introduction to Pinterest: 6 p.m. March 31. Explore the basics of Pinterest, including creating accounts, following friends, and adding pins. Patrons must have their email address and email password to create a Pinterest account. Laptops will be provided. Space is limited. Register at the service desk.

New Release Movie – “Spectre”: 2 p.m. April 2. Join us for a showing of the newest James Bond adventure featuring Daniel Craig as the iconic MI6 spy. Rated PG-13. Free and open to the public. Free popcorn.

Pine Needle Basketry Class: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. April 2. North Dakota Council on the Arts artist Eileen McEnroe is returning to West Fargo to teach a class in pine needle basketry. Class size is limited, so register in advance at the service desk. A $15 non-refundable fee is due at time of registration.


The Homework Center is open 3-5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday when school is in session. The homework center is closed March 28.

The library is closed March 25 and 27.
