FARGO — The Red River Zoo will reopen Saturday, May 2, and be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. again as businesses in North Dakota are allowed to reopen.
The zoo announced the decision Wednesday, April 29, saying it was made in conjunction with Gov. Doug Burgum's "Smart Restart" initiative for the state. Still, the zoo's own processes "will exceed government guidelines for reopening," according to a news release.
That means many of the zoo's buildings, including the Carousel Pavilion, will not open. Social distancing guidelines will be followed, and guests will be encouraged to wear face masks and remain at least 6 feet away from other groups.
