50th Annual Kolle Family Reunion
The nine children of Ferdinand (Fritz) and Mable, originally from the Felton area, celebrated their 50th family reunion at Bladow Beach Resort on Rush Lake, south of Perham. The reunion started 50 years ago at Big Pine Lake near Perham, MN for a week of family fun. Everyone had such a good time they decided to keep on having a week-long reunion every year. All nine families have been represented each year. The nine children and their spouses are as follows: Walt (Lee) Kolle, Arthur (Donna) Kolle, Veryle (Robert) McCulloch, David Kolle, Wanda (Dr. F.M) Mills, Ernest (Ardelle) Kolle, Violet (Gary) Abraham, Maysie (Brent) Aarestad, and Linda (Jim) Lange. The families now total 240 in number and counting with children, spouses, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. They also have close friends who have attended with them for the majority of those years. Mable Kolle died in 1950 immediately after the birth of the youngest child, Linda. She was 45 years old. Ferdinand (Fritz) was determined to keep the family together and raised all nine children through many hardships. He died in 1971 at the age of 69. The family feels blessed that they have been able to stay so close and their children have continued to keep the family fun and memories going every year.
