Ryan Orth Achieves Eagle Scout Rank
West Fargo Boy Scout Troop 279 member Ryan Orth achieved the rank of Eagle Scout May 7, 2019. He is the son of Adrian and Michelle Orth. Orth was very active in scouts, earning 47 merit badges. He attended the 2017 National Boy Scout Jamboree in West Virginia. Orth earned the Triple Crown Award by attending 3 high adventure camps: Sea Base, Florida Keys; Philmont, New Mexico; and Northern Tier, Boundary Waters. For Orth’s Eagle Scout project, he created 4 Interactive Airplane Circuit Display Boards for the Fargo Air Museum. He developed and tested circuits with actual airplane components to be used in educational courses at the museum. Orth created displays for these circuits so that kids could learn from them and become interested in the aviation and/or electronics fields. The project took over 430 hours to complete, requiring him to teach other scouts how to solder and use 3D design programs. Ryan is currently a Senior at West Fargo High School and plans to continue his education in Software Engineering. The Court of Honor ceremony and celebration will be September 15, 2019, 4pm, at the Jon L. Wanzek Center for Scouting, 4200 19th Ave S, Fargo, ND.
