Summer Reading Program-Planet Party: 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Free event. Event is open to toddlers through first graders and their families.

SRP-Planet Pillows: 2 p.m. Thursday. Teens and tweens can make planet pillows. Program is free and open to grades four and up.

SRP-Afternoon Craft: 1:30 p.m. Monday. Summer Reading Program weekly afternoon craft projects. Make and take a variety of different craft projects, every Monday afternoon. Each week will focus on a different aspect of A Universe of Stories.

SRP-Astronaut Training: 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Attend this free event and learn all about becoming an astronaut. Program is free and open to kids in grades K-4.

A Universe of Legos and Games: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Stop by for Lego building and games. We have a variety of games and a large supply of Legos for all ages.

A Universe of Stories-Sensory Storytime: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Bring little ones to the Library for a lap sit storytime and sensory activities. This storytime is geared for babies up to 20 months.

Regular Events

Friday Morning Movie: 10:30 a.m. Friday. Join us every Friday morning for a showing of a fun and family friendly movie. With free popcorn too! View the movie lineup on our event calendar at westfargolibrary.org. Rated PG.

Genealogy Help: Noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. Staff Genealogist Jackie Marler will be available to help you explore family's history. Bring your projects or just ask questions. Visit the Historical Center located on the library's main floor.

The Next Chapter Book Club - Evening: 7 p.m. Monday. Join this lively group for a discussion of “Where the Crawdads Sing” by Delia Owens. Copies of the book and discussion questions are available in advance at the service desk.

Simply Stories: 10:15 a.m. Tuesday. This session is geared for lap babies and preschoolers and is just stories – no crafts. For stories and simple make-and-take crafts, visit the library at 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Registration is not required.

Mahjong Gamers: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Join a group of mahjong gamers for an afternoon of skill, strategy and wily calculation. Not a gathering for beginners.If you would like to learn how to play mahjong, be sure to watch the Library News, library's website, and Facebook page for other opportunities to learn from this group.

Storytime with a Craft: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Story times are geared for preschool through first grade age children and their caretakers. Daycares are welcome, but for groups larger than five, please call ahead at 701- 433-5460. Registration is not required.

Twisted Stitchers: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. An evening of knitting or crochet. Bring supplies. Not for beginners, but tips will be given to knitters and crocheters needing help. No pre-registration required.

Mahjong Gamers: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Technology Tutoring: 4-5 p.m. Wednesday. Tutoring session to help you learn to use your phone, laptop, or tablet. Tutors can also help you learn how to borrow library eBooks and audiobooks on your device from OverDrive, Hoopla and RBdigital. No registration needed.

Read to a Dog: 6:30 p.m. June 13. Spend some time practicing reading with friendly dogs. Trainers remain with dogs at all times. Several dogs will be at the library during this time.

WFPL @ Bookfest: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 13 at North Elmwood Park, 500 13th Ave. W, West Fargo. Throughout the evening, participants will be able to listen and read books, create crafts or meet a local author.

Summer Reading Program-STEM Camp: 10:15 a.m. & 1:15 p.m., June 17-20. Kids can learn all about different areas of STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) and participate in experiments and activities. Each day is focused on a different topic about space, astronauts, planets and more. Kids are welcome to register for all days or separate days individually. Registration for this event is required. Kids in grades K-5 are welcome to sign up for either the morning session or the afternoon session. The library will be partnering with the Inspire Innovation Lab for this and more programs to come.

Beginning Mahjong Class series: 6:30 p.m. June 17. Learn to play mahjong during this three-session class. Each table of four will have a teacher. Free. Register in advance at the service desk or call 701-551-8940.

Telling Your Story through Scrapbooking: 5 p.m. June 18. Register at the library's service desk or call 701-551-8940. Participants are invited to bring eight photos to create their own keepsake. For all skill levels, grade seven through adult. Class size limited to 12.


The library is closed on Sundays from May 26 through Sept. 1.
