Special Events

Technology Class — Intro to Facebook: 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6. Learn the basics of Facebook, including setting up an account, adding friends, and communicating with friends. Laptops will be provided. Space is limited; please register at the service desk. Free.

Regular Events

Friday Morning Movie — "Miles from Tomorrowland-Let's Rocket": 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2. Climb on board the Stellosphere. Join Miles, his family, and his robo-ostrich Merc in these fun, science-filled adventures in space. Free. (Rated E)

Genealogy: Noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3. Bring projects or just ask questions.

Simply Stories: 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6. This session is geared for lap babies and preschoolers and is just stories — no crafts. For stories and simple make-and-take crafts, visit the library at 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Registration is not required.

Storytime with a Craft — Grandparents: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6. Story times are geared for preschool through first- grade age children and their caretakers. Day cares are welcome, but for groups larger than five, please call ahead at (701) 433-5460. Registration is not required.

Twisted Stitchers: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6. Evening of knitting or crochet. Come with your own supplies. Not for beginners, but tips will be given to knitters and crocheters needing help. No preregistration required.

Ham Radio Operators - RRRA: 7 p.m. Wednesday. Learn ham radio operating technician and/or general licenses in these classes. Open to all adults and children (with attending adult) who want to learn more about ham radio operation.

Upcoming events

Let's Get Crafty: 6:30 p.m. Sept. 8. Stop by for DIY projects including tic-tac-totes, pop tab bracelets, and duct tape creations. Program is free and open to kids age 10-14. Registration is requested.

New Release Movie — "Jungle Book": 2 p.m. Sept. 10. Join us for a showing of the live-action, re-imaging of the classic Disney tale. After a threat from the tiger Shere Khan forces him to flee the jungle, a man-cub named Mowgli embarks on a journey of self-discovery with the help of panther Bagheera and bear, Baloo. Movie is free and open to all ages. Free popcorn. PG.

Lego Mania: 6:30 p.m. Sept. 13 p.m. Build your own designs and create your own worlds with Legos. Legos are supplied. Program is free and open to all ages.


The library is closed Sundays during the summer. The library will be closed on Sept. 5 for the Labor Day holiday.
