Local Family Fare stores raise $8,200 for food bank
WEST FARGO — The Great Plains Food Bank received an $8,200 check from the SpartanNash Foundation during a ceremony Monday, Oct. 16, at the Family Fare grocery store in West Fargo.
The money was raised during a 12-day "hunger scan" in which customers who visited participating SpartanNash-owned stores or gas stations in eight states could make donations of $1, $5 or $10. All of the money went to support community food banks and food pantries.
At the four Family Fare stores in West Fargo, Fargo and Moorhead, $8,200 was raised.
