Fort Totten, N.D., minor faces DUI charge after hitting two parked police cruisers, third car

Police car on the street at night

The North Dakota Highway Patrol announced an early-morning, four-vehicle crash that occurred New Years' Day, all with one Fort Totten minor—now charged with DUI—at the center.

The incident occurred in central Devils Lake at about 5:30 a.m., when a 15-year-old boy got behind the wheel of a 1994 Chevrolet Silverado.

"The juvenile male attempted to back the Chevrolet onto the street and struck two parked Devils Lake Police Department patrol vehicles before attempting to drive forward and spinning out,' the release states. "The driver then again attempted to drive in reverse and backed the Chevrolet into the parked Chrysler (Sebring) in a driveway, pushing the Chrysler into a fence."

The report states that damage to all vehicles involved was minor, with no injuries. The incident is under investigation by the highway patrol.
