FARGO – Prosecutors and the attorney representing Brooke Lynne Crews, the woman who pleaded guilty last month in the murder case of Savanna LaFontaine-Greywind, are requesting that the date of Crews’ sentencing be changed from 11 a.m. Jan. 16 to 1 p.m. Feb. 2.

The prosecution and defense filed their request in a document called a stipulation to continue, which says the reason for the change is to make sure “all involved parties have the opportunity to be present.”

A proposed order establishing the change is awaiting a judge’s signature.

Crews has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to commit kidnapping, and providing false information to police. The maximum penalty for the conspiracy to commit murder charge is life in prison without parole. The maximum penalty for the conspiracy to commit kidnapping charge is 20 years in prison and a fine of $20,000.

Savanna LaFontaine-Greywind, 22, disappeared in August while eight months pregnant after going upstairs in her north Fargo apartment building to model a dress that Crews was sewing. Her body was found eight days later in the Red River.

Crews and her live-in boyfriend, William Henry Hoehn, were arrested in August. Police found Crews with a newborn child when she was arrested. The baby later proved to be the biological child of LaFontaine-Greywind and her boyfriend, Ashton Matheny.

Hoehn faces the same charges as Crews and has pleaded not guilty. His trial is scheduled to begin in March in Cass County District Court.
