Special Events

North Dakota Beer Display: Jan. 15 — May 15. Visit the balcony of the library to see an exhibit of rare North Dakota beer collectibles owned by Royce Granlund of Hickson.

Judi Dench Movie Month — "Philomena": 1 p.m. Thursday. Young Philomena is sent to a convent after giving birth to her first child. When her son becomes a toddler, the nuns place him for adoption. Philomena spends the next 50 years looking for him. Free movie and popcorn. Rated PG-13.

Snowman Storytime: 6 p.m. Thursday. A few snowman stories, a make and take craft project, and a treat. Free.

Pine Needle Basketry Class: 10 a.m. Saturday. ND Council on the Arts Artist Eileen McEnroe is returning to West Fargo to teach a class in Pine Needle Basketry. Register in advance at the service desk. A $15 non-refundable fee is due at time of registration. Space is limited.

Open Weave Pine Needle Session: 1 p.m. Sunday. This Pine Needle Open Weave Session is for previous students of Pine Needle Artist Eileen McEnroe and anyone who would like to observe the technique. No charge and no registration required.

Technology Class — Intro to Gmail and Google Drive: 1 p.m. Tuesday. Learn the basics of using two of the most popular Google apps - Gmail and Google Drive. This class will cover navigation, settings, and uses for each app. Bring a laptop or use one of the library's laptops. Space is limited. Please register at the service desk or by calling (701)433-5460. Free.

Regular Events

Friday Morning Movie — Disney's "Inside Out": 10:30 a.m. Friday. Emotions run wild in the mind of a young girl who is uprooted from her peaceful life in the Midwest and forced to move to San Francisco. Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness each have their own ideas about how she should handle her new surroundings. Free movie and popcorn. Rated PG.

Genealogy: Noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. Bring projects or just ask questions.

Simply Stories: 10:15 a.m. Tuesday. This session is geared for lap babies and preschoolers and is just stories — no crafts. For stories and simple make-and-take crafts, visit the library at 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Registration is not required.

Storytime with a Craft: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Story times are geared for preschool through first grade age children and their caretakers. Daycares are welcome, but for groups larger than five, please call ahead at (701) 433-5460. Registration is not required.

Twisted Stitchers: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Join this fun group for an evening of knitting or crochet. Bring supplies. Not for beginners, but tips will be given to knitters and crocheters needing help. No pre-registration required.

Technology Tutoring: 4-5 p.m. Wednesday. Drop in for a one-on-one tutoring session to get help with your technology questions and build your skills. Bring a device or use one of the library's iPads or computers. All ages are welcome and no registration is needed.

Ham Radio — RRRA: 7 p.m. Wednesday. Sessions are open to adults and accompanied children interested in learning more about Ham radio.

Upcoming Events

Judi Dench Movie Month: 1 p.m. Jan. 25. See library for movie title. Comedy about seven cash-strapped senior citizens who decide to spend time at a resort in India. From the 2004 novel by Deborah Moggach. Free movie and popcorn. Rated PG-13.

Legos and Game Night: 6:30 p.m. Jan. 29. Build your own designs and create your own worlds with Legos. Play a variety of classic board games. We have a big supply of Legos and games for a fun evening for the whole family. Program is free and open to all ages.


The afterschool program will be open Monday through Friday (when school is in session) from 3-5:30 p.m.
