North Dakota Beer Display: Jan. 15 — May 15. Exhibit of rare North Dakota beer collectibles owned by Royce Granlund of Hickson.

Laid-Back Winter Book Club: Jan. 8 — March 20.Join West Fargo Public Library's first Laid-Back Winter Book Club. Simply choose a book from the selections shown, receive a free packet of cocoa, and take home with a Laid-Back reading comment card. Read the book, enjoy the cocoa, complete the comment card and return. Each returned comment card entitles reader to enter a drawing for a free coffee gift card. Prizes drawn March 20, the first day of Spring. Prizes courtesy of the Friends of the Library.

Olympics Movie Month — "Miracle": 1 p.m. Thursday. Based on the true story of the most famous team in the history of American sports--the 1980 US Olympic hockey team. Free movie and popcorn. Rated PG.

Regular Events

Friday Morning Movie —"Cars": 10:30 a.m. Friday. A cocky hot rod gets stuck in a small town en route to a big race, and learns a lesson in humility. With the help of the town's quirky car population, he learns that sometimes life is more about the voyage than the outcome of the race. Free movie and popcorn. Rated G.

Genealogy: Noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. Bring projects or just ask questions.

Simply Stories: 10:15 a.m. Tuesday. This session is geared for lap babies and preschoolers and is just stories — no crafts. For stories and simple make-and-take crafts, visit the library at 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Registration is not required.

Storytime with a Craft: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Story times are geared for preschool through first grade age children and their caretakers. Daycares are welcome, but for groups larger than five, please call ahead at (701) 433-5460. Registration is not required.

Twisted Stitchers: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Bring supplies. Not for beginners, but tips will be given to knitters and crocheters needing help. No pre-registration required.

Technology Tutoring: 4-5 p.m. Wednesday. Drop in for a one-on-one tutoring session to get help with technology questions and build skills. Bring a device or use one of the library's iPads or computers. All ages are welcome and no registration is needed.

Ham Radio — RRRA: 7 p.m. Wednesday. Sessions are open to adults and accompanied children interested in learning more about Ham radio.

Upcoming Events

Olympics Movie Month — "Chariots of Fire": 1 p.m. Feb. 8. The story of two English runners both driven to win the Olympics. Winner of 4 Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Original Score. Free movie and popcorn. Rated PG.

Needle Felting Class: 1 a.m. Feb. 10. Join Anna Lynch of the Designing Quilters as she teaches beginning needle felting skills. Participants will make a flat heart and a felt chocolate. All supplies provided. Free and open to high school students and adults. Register in advance at the library. Class size limited to ten.

Valentine Crafts: 1 p.m. Feb. 10. Come to the library and make the perfect Valentine for your best friend, parents, grandparents, and more! Free and open to all ages.

Technology Class — Searching the Internet: 1 p.m. Feb. 13 Learn strategies for searching and navigating the Internet and become more knowledgeable about different browsers, such as Google Chrome, Firefox and Microsoft Edge (formerly Internet Explorer). Bring a laptop or use one of the library's laptops. Space is limited. Please register at the service desk or by calling (701)433-5460. Free.
