West Fargo Library kicks off Laid Back Winter Club Program
With the onset of the North Dakota cold and dark winter, the West Fargo Public Library announces its second winter reading program for students and adults.
Interested individuals should stop at the library to check out a copy of one of the following four titles:
• Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly, the original story of the popular film;
• The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah, a novel about Vietnam POW Ernt Allbright, his family, and their life in the 1970s Alaskan frontier;
• Paper Wishes by Lois Sepahban, the story of Manami and her family sent to the Japanese internment camp Manzanar at the start of World War II;
• The Last Painting of Sara De Vos by Dominic Smith, the story of a 300-year-old Dutch winter painting and the lives of its contemporary owner and an Australian grad student.
When books are returned, participants will be invited to register for coffee gift cards awarded March 20, the first day of Spring, courtesy of the Friends of the Library. Program dates are Jan. 7-March 20. For more information, call the library at 701-551-8940.
