COLFAX, N.D. — A pilot and passenger suffered minor injuries when a small plane crashed 15 miles west of Colfax at about 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, according to a release by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The plane's two occupants were taken to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo to be treated, the patrol said. Their identities were not released.

The plane was a Piper Cub PA 18, the patrol said. It was a state of North Dakota plane used to manage wildlife, Richland County Commissioner Dan Thompson said.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the cause of the crash, the patrol said.

Colfax is 33 miles south of Fargo.
