FARGO — A West Fargo man was in custody Thursday afternoon, June 6, after police say he left a baby in a car at the West Acres Shopping Center.

Around 1 p.m., police received a report of a “red” and “sweaty” baby left in an unlocked vehicle with the windows down in the mall parking lot, according to a Facebook post from the Fargo Police Department. When officers arrived, a good Samaritan had removed a 13-month-old child, police said.

The child's father, identified by police as 22-year-old Robert Henson of West Fargo, was arrested on suspicion of child neglect.

The Fargo Police Department is reminding the public that no matter what the weather is like, a child can never be left unattended in a vehicle.
