FRONTIER, N.D. — Someone cut the locks off a semitrailer here and stole an undisclosed amount of fireworks stored inside, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
The theft was reported Thursday, June 6. The initial investigation revealed the fireworks were stolen from the semitrailer that was used as a storage unit for an unnamed business. The theft remains under investigation.
A similar theft occurred last summer, when over $40,000 worth of fireworks were stolen from a Memory Fireworks trailer south of Fargo in rural Cass County. In both cases, the thief or thieves forced entry to the storage trailers by cutting off the locks, the sheriff's office said.
The sheriff’s office urges fireworks vendors to be cautious and report any suspicious activity.
