WEST FARGO — An 18-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly attacked a group of people and their vehicle with a golf club, police said.
Around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, West Fargo police were called to a disturbance in the 800 block of Beaton Drive, near BioLife Plasma Services.
When officers arrived, multiple people claimed they were assaulted with a golf club, and that their vehicle was also damaged with the club, according to a news release from the West Fargo Police Department.
The alleged attacker, Peyton Wentz of Fargo, ran from the scene into a residential area in West Fargo, and continued to run away when spotted by officers, police said.
With the help of a Fargo police dog, Wentz was tracked down and arrested. He was booked into the Cass County Jail on suspicion of aggravated assault, criminal mischief and fleeing a peace officer.
The extent of the victims' injuries was unclear, along with the motive for the attack and whether the victims knew Wentz. West Fargo police said they would not be releasing further details.
