FARGO – A Fargo man was arrested early Monday, March 12, after allegedly using a shotgun to smash out a window of another man’s car, a Fargo Police Department spokeswoman said.
Taviyon Laperry Thompson, 24, was arrested on suspicion of terrorizing and criminal mischief to a motor vehicle, Jessica Schindeldecker said.
According to the police report on the incident:
Officers responded about 2:30 a.m. to a disturbance in the 1800 block of Second Avenue South. A caller told an emergency dispatcher that a man was in the parking lot of an apartment building with a shotgun. Schindeldecker said multiple callers also told dispatchers they heard shots fired.
When police arrived, they set up a perimeter and determined two men had been fighting.
After the initial confrontation, Thompson is alleged to have retrieved a shotgun from his apartment, chased the other man out to the parking lot, and smashed a window on the victim’s vehicle, the report said.
Officers on the scene said there were no shots fired from the shotgun, Schindeldecker said.
A woman who identified herself as Thompson’s girlfriend was also arrested at the scene on unrelated warrants, Schindeldecker said.
