Reports show the muffler shop owner shot and killed 37-year-old Amund Haarstad of Fergus Falls just before the truck was found.

The shop owner who fired at him is 67-year-old Thomas Kraft.

This case is said to spark debate on Iowa's 'Stand Your Ground' law.

No charges have been filed at this time.

Court records show Haarstad has a lengthy criminal past with charges dating back to 1999.

A Facebook account with his name and pictures say Haarstad was a construction worker and father of two.
