FARGO - An 18-year-old Fargo man faces seven felony charges of burglary in connection with a string of break-ins, including one at the Fargo Civic Center where he allegedly swiped $2,300 in cash, master keys and a city credit card.
According to court documents, surveillance video shows Ethan Kuchera breaking into the Civic Center where he stole the cash, keys and credit card from the business office on June 14.
The next day, seven garages along 11th and 10th Street North were burglarized in the 1400, 1500 and 1600 blocks, court documents stated.
Police used a shoe print to tie all seven burglaries back to Kuchera, court documents stated.
During one of the break-ins, a homeowner confronted Kuchera, who used a false name and fled when the owner tried taking a photo of him. Kuchera told the owner he was looking for a place to sleep when asked what he was doing in the garage, court documents stated.
A vehicle in one of the garages had its front passenger window smashed, but court records do not indicate anything was stolen from the garages.
Kuchera is being held at the Cass County Jail. A phone message left for his attorney, Charles Sheeley, was not immediately returned Friday, July 20.
