Former downtown event center general manager charged with theft of over $16,000
FARGO — The former general manager of a downtown concert and events venue here who was fired after financial discrepancies were discovered now faces charges of theft, according to Cass County District Court documents.
Richard Howard Pallay III is charged with one Class B felony count of theft for illegally obtaining more than $16,000 from Sanctuary Events Center.
According to court documents:
Pallay took money out of deposit envelopes made out to the center and deposited what remained in the company's bank account.
The money Pallay took went to his bank account and was "used for gambling and going out," court records show.
The complainant in the case said it is believed Pallay embezzled close to $19,500.
In addition, Pallay is suspected of making multiple purchases for personal use with the company credit card, court records show.
