FARGO - A man who was arrested Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 26, after a high-speed chase through multiple counties is now charged in Cass County District Court with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under suspension.
Kellen Strutz, 38, remained in the Cass County Jail Thursday afternoon, Sept. 27.
Lt. Mark Empting of the Clay County Sheriff's Office said the pursuit started about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Fargo.
Fargo police tried to pull over the truck, but the driver continued into Minnesota.
Law enforcement took over the pursuit in Minnesota and set out a spike strip to disable the truck in Dilworth, Empting said.
The truck drove over the strip and went back into Fargo via the Center Avenue bridge.
With three flat tires, the truck came to a halt near the Petro Serve USA gas station on the corner of Second Street North and Northern Pacific Avenue.
"I got outside and there was a truck sitting there with the rims worn off, and a lot of police presence around the vehicle," said Randy Schmitz, a witness who heard the commotion while inside the gas station.
"I'm just very surprised to see something like this when you're stopping at a gas station in Fargo."
After the truck came to a stop, Strutz ran from police on foot and was arrested a few blocks north of the crash near City Hall.
No one was injured in the chase and no serious damage was caused.
